As Chairperson of the Board, Melissa provides strategic leadership and oversees the organization's governance. She ensures that Y'abal remains true to its mission while adapting to the evolving needs of the communities we serve.

Secretary

As Secretary of the Board, Ivan is responsible for maintaining organizational records, managing correspondence, and ensuring compliance with administrative requirements. His meticulous approach helps keep our governance on track.

Bart Biesen

Financial Manager

As Financial Manager, Bart oversees the organization's financial health, including budgeting, financial reporting, and fiscal compliance. His expertise ensures responsible stewardship of the resources entrusted to us.

Governance Structure

Y'abal operates under a robust governance framework as required by the Belgian Law of June 27, 1921.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of Y'abal. It consists of a minimum of three members who are appointed by the General Assembly for a term of two years.

General Assembly

The General Assembly is the supreme governing body of Y'abal, composed of all active members. It meets at least once per year and is responsible for approving annual accounts, budgets, and major organizational decisions.

Delegated Manager

The Board may appoint a delegated manager responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization, including routine correspondence and administrative matters.

Financial Oversight

Y'abal maintains rigorous financial controls and reporting procedures. Our annual accounts are prepared in accordance with Belgian accounting standards and submitted for approval at the annual General Assembly.
